Have you read the Themes documentation, particularly Theme Development?
yeah, i guess my issue comes in because i dont have a page.php to remove get_sidebar
and get_sidebar isnt in the index.php file…
……
so i started using some common sense and transferred the page.php that’s n the Default theme to the current theme i’m using…and then removed the get_sidebar….
but…it still shows up on the page… 🙁
Do you have a sidebar.php?
If not, then the sidebar is defined directly in your page.php. You’ll need to edit it there.
i do have a sidebar.php, but if i delete it, wont it delete from even the index.php page….I do want it on the index.php page….just not on created pages…
I did not suggestt that you delete sidebar.php — I merely asked if you have one. You do, so deleting get_sidebar() should work.
Have you cleared your cache, after installing the new page.php ?
yep…did that too…lol
…still there. 🙁
and get this….
I’m using:

I’ve commented out get_sidebar on that page also…and it STILL shows there too.
Your source shows this
<!– begin footer –>
</div>
<!– begin sidebar –>
So it looks to me like your footer is calling the sidebar.
think it has anything to do with css?
List the files you have in your theme.
oh wow…what page is that? all of them?
OKAY….COOL!!! Thank you!
now is the issue of getting t to align properly on index.php…lol
thanks again!
any ideas for aligning on index.php?
