Remove Sidebar from page--called in footer (5 posts)

    I am using the Balita theme which has a dynamic sidebar called in the footer. I would like to remove the sidebar on a custom page template, but I am not sure how since it is called in the footer.

    Any thoughts?

    It's usually called from the theme's functions.php file using

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/register_sidebar

    and it probably calls from footer.php (it varies though)

    Thanks--I am going to give it a shot when I look at it later tonight. Crossing my fingers!

    there is a conditional tag for page templates;

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/is_page_template

    example:

    <?php if( !is_page_template('template-file-name.php' ) ) : ?>
       <?php get_sidebar(); //or whatever code is used in your theme's footer.php to call the sidebar// ?>
    <?php endif; ?>
