Remove plugin / remove me from plugin

I’ve had a plugin developed by another person via elance. The plugin is in the WP repository. It’s not working, not developed and not supported. I can’t get in touch with the author who submitted it to the repo (I’ve tried for over a year now). I don’t like the broken plugin to be in the repo, and I don’t ike to be associated with it as an author.

I’m listed as a co-author in the readme.txt but I have no write access to the repo. This means I can’t fix anything, and I can’t remove it.

I would like the plugin removed, or as an alternative option, to have my username removed from the authors list in the readme.txt.

Is this possible? Where do I go for help with this, Not sure if this is the right forum?
