• For those of you who have chosen to remain on the older versions of W3 until these issues get sorted out, you may remove the plug-in update notification in WordPress by doing the following:

    In Dashboard:
    Plugins\Editor\
Select Plugin to Edit: W3 Total Cache – Select
In the file to the left – change the version from:
    Version: 0.9.2.5
    to:
    Version: 0.9.2.8

This will cease the plug-in from alerting you of the updates you do not want. This is extremely helpful when sites you’ve created have other admins, who might accidentally update the plug-in and kill the site.

When a newer version comes out, you will be once again be alerted. If you do not want “that” update, just follow above steps and change to updated version number.

This can be done for any plug-ins that you choose not to update.
