Remove Page titles using overrides

This was suggested to me by a theme developer but not sure how to do it
It was also siggested that you don’t edit the theme to remove page titles.
I want to remove titles from selected pages like the option in genisis framework.

Why haven’t wordpress developers included a basic option to do this?
Like you’ll find in most or all other management systems, i don’t understand.
There must be thousands of posts asking for the same feature.
It’s obviously important that you don’t want a title over every page.
