remove "leave a comment" section (9 posts)

    i work with the theme twenty ten.

    how can i remove the "leave a comment" section on my site. I tried to find anything to edit, but i cant find anything that works.
    please help!

    Fastest way if you are sure you never want comments:

    Go to Appearance > Themes > Editor > Comments.php and remove all text from that file then save.

    no, i dont want comments.
    but i can still save the "code" and insert it again, if i ever want comments?

    hi miami.us, maybe instead of removing all contents of any file you can go to the single.php which list your post and browse through it and find something like wp_comment() or comments_template() and comment it out so its not executed when run, just keep track what you do though so you can rectify if a problem occurs..
    in one of my blogs i use "Admin Management Xtended" plugin which allows
    when you add a post or edit a post from wordpress admin there is a option to display comments or close. thats probably your best bet before playing with theme files .. let us know how you go .. cheers

    i already deleted everything in the comment section. worked finde. i shouldnt i play with theme files? i'm an absolut beginner with wordpress
