Support » Fixing WordPress » Remove Image and Caption Dimensions

  • Hello, I am trying to create a design that uses fluid images (i.e. no width or height attributes in the img tag). The WordPress editor, however, automatically adds width and height to any images.

I’ve tried several variations on the technique that the Fluid Images plugin uses. It works great, except that it has a side effect that any caption shortcodes are striped from the image.

After several hours of digging through the core code, I found the cause of this. The wpeditimage TinyMCE plugin checks for width attributes in the caption shortcode and the img tag, and if it doesn’t find them it simply remove the caption.

Sorry for the very long explanation. Does anybody know of a good solution for this?
