Hi I would like to remove the home page option from the navigation bar on my website http://www.supersavvysteph.com.

I have already created a new static page to replace it and made the page where my posts appear not visible in the nav. Bar but now there is a home page and the new home page entitled super savvy that are both the same. The page named home is now useless but I can’t get it to go from the nav. Bar.

Can someone please help with how to solve this, I’m still quite new to this and the thought of editing php alone again makes me nervous as last time I lost everything.

    I am using itheme2

    Thanks

  • Hi MissMamo,
Have you checked out Appearance > Menus in the WordPress admin area?
You can probably just remove / add the pages etc. you want from your top menu.

The iTheme docs also talk about the menus a little:

Let me know if you need more help.

    Take care,

    Hey Paul

thanks so much for your help. I have managed to do that but I am now faced with a new problem, my posts page was previously hidden using the Exclude Pages from Navigation plugin. It’s now not working and I can’t hide the page titled posts. I don’t want this visible in the nav bar.

Is there any way I can remove the page from the nav bar again?

    thanks

Is the “Exclude Pages from Navigation” plugin not working?
If you disable the plugin, can you then see the Posts page in “Appearance > Menus”?
I’m wondering if the “Exclude…” plugin did something that makes the pages not even visible to Appearance > Menus…

Anyway, make sure that plugin is disabled and then visit Appearance > menus again.

I can see the posts page with the plugin enabled and disabled :S

I used the plug in so I didn’t have to get my hands or my php code dirty! Im not that advanced, yet!

I want the page titled posts to exist I just need it hidden from the navbar. It was hidden before I made the custom menu and I could see it in Appearance>Menu and I still can see it there with the plug in disabled. Not quite sure why it’s not working now.

Will I need to change the php code or is there another plug in that WILL disable that page from being visible in the navbar?

If it is in Appearance > Menu (on the right side) you can delete it from the menu. Click the “Posts” page there on the right side of the Appearance > Menu screen, and the dialog will open down. One of the options there is “delete.” Go ahead and click that.

This ONLY deletes it from the menu — it won’t delete the page from your site.

Let me know if that’s not clear.
