    text that is still appearing in the top left corner of the posts.

    maybe:

    #slider .post .entry-title a {
        color: #FFFFFF;
        display: none;
    }

    to remove the category link on the slider page, just remove

    <p style="color: #fff; margin-left:10px;">
    <?php
    $category = get_the_category();
    echo $category[0]->cat_name;
    ?></p>

    from the very bottom of loop-slider-categories.php

    Sorry, with some of these I don't know which php file you are refering to, to make the amendments.

    I could send you screen print to show you what elements I want to remove but not here.

    Big birthday yesterday, maybe my head is still a bit fuzzy for this

    No sorry, I got that one.

    is it in stylesheet?

    Yes, I beleive it's the overlay which has the tiltes. Everything should be css unless specied otherwise. Or if you see no <?php ?> tags on it. css won't have that.

    oooooh

    Did that, not good.

    you won't see any <> at all in css inless it's in brackets (<>)

    css is mostly ., ;, :, and { }

    php has a lot more symbols, that's one way to begin to distinguish.

    in css:

    #slider .post .entry-title a {
        color: #FFFFFF;
        display: none;
    }

    #slider .post .entry-title a {
    color: #FFFFFF;
    display: none;
    }

    I changed this in style.css and the slider went blank. I have left it for you to see.

    I remember trying this last time we worked on it, before we introduced the catagory-slider. The same thing happened.

    I know,
    this edit was not css, rather, in loop-slider.php

    replace:

    <div class="entry-container">

    <h2 class="entry-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>

    <div class="entry-summary">
    <?php the_excerpt(); ?>

    <div class="clear"></div>

    </div><!-- .entry-summary -->

    </div><!-- .entry-container -->

    with

    <?/* removed the post title and excerpt:

    <div class="entry-container">

    <h2 class="entry-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>

    <div class="entry-summary">
    <?php the_excerpt(); ?>

    <div class="clear"></div>

    </div><!-- .entry-summary -->

    </div><!-- .entry-container -->

    */?>

    the <?/* */?> hides the code.

    I have changed the css back but this comp takes ages to respond (I am installing a service pack on my other computer which could take a while) I will try the above as soon as I can :)

    okay, when you try it, the above should remove the entry titles.

    Sorry to be a total pain, its just the last little thing I need to get right :s

    I don't have any css mods for the slider in my demo version of what were doing, and yet mine shows no titles. So I assumed it must be the code in the template, sure enough it was there.
    If you have it as well, I'm not sure why you get the entry-container div.
    I'll have to review. It's hard to come back to something like this after a long time away from it.

    when I remove <?/* the titles come back, so that's why it works for me. I'm stumped if you have the same code as I do.

    maybe try:

    #slider .post .entry-title  a:link {

        display: none;
    }

    this works in firebug on your site

    #slider .post .entry-title a {
        color: #FFFFFF;
        display: none;
    }

    be sure there's no commas in the selectors

    #slider .post, .entry-title a = no good

    never mind that, get rid of it,
    I figured out what's going on, it's the CATEGORY name you are trying to remove, the entry titles are already removed via above code.

    now, in loop-slider.php, add the mark-out tags <?/* */?> to the category link like I so:

    <?/*

    <div class="entry-container">

    <h3 style="color:#fff;"><?php echo $category_name ?></h3>"

    </div><!-- .entry-container -->
     </a>

    */?>

    however (always a catch!) you have to do this <?/* */?>:

    <?/*

    <div class="entry-container">
    							<h2 class="entry-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php the_title_attribute(); ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>
    							<div class="entry-summary">
    								<?php the_excerpt(); ?>
    								<div class="clear"></div>
    							</div><!-- .entry-summary -->
    						</div><!-- .entry-container -->

    */?>

    in loop-slider-categories.php, in order to remove the entry titles on the category slider pages.

    one more thing, I almost didin't notice!
    in
    loop-slider.php

    <?php echo $category_link ?>" title="<?php echo $category_name ?>">

    must become:

    <?php echo $category_link ?>" title="<?php echo $category_name ?>">
    </a>

    the mark out stole the closing , so we needed to re add it!

    I still can't remember why I used mark out in the templates instead of css, I must have tried css and it was too complicated. The hardest thing about this stuff is remambering how you did it, and why that way. There are sooo many ways to acheive the same thing.

    Hi,

    I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the black banner with all the author and date info.

    deepbevel I saw that the advice you gave was:

    The classes are:

    .folded

    .folded a

    .folded:before

    I used css,
    display:none;

    I saw all three of those sections, but where exactly do I write in the display:none;? I'm an ultra beginner. Thanks.
