Remove Date on Posts

I am using Traction PRO Child Theme.

I tried to remove dates from appearing on my posts by deleting the following from my index.php file:
<?php the_time(__( ‘j’ )); ?>

<?php the_time(__ ( ‘M’, ‘traction’ )); ?>

After deleting these, dates still appear above the Titles of each blog post.

How can i prevent the dates from appearing on published articles?
