    First time poster.
Much love for all posts I've read-learned so much. Child and templates are a given.

Could not find this specifically so here goes.

I have many static pages like my home page : http://www.frontlineanimalremoval.com

I generally have comments turned off. Guy I am working with on SEO states it is critical that I "Remove comment feed link from any page or post that doesn't allow comments. (http://www.frontlineanimalremoval.com/comments/feed/)"

I followed some thread advice and have the look I want (no comment evidence) after editing the page.php template. This was not good enough for SEO guy he states- "still see the feed url: <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="Animal Removal | Nuisance Wild Animal Removal Akron/Canton OH ยป Comments Feed" href="http://www.frontlineanimalremoval.com

I can find this too when I look at my page's source lines 38 and 39.

The question is, how do I get rid of this for my pages which do not allow comments?

Hopefully, the answer is so easy this question is laughable and that's why I can't find it being asked before.

See this previous explanation on removing RSS feed links from the header.

I followed the link. I created a new functions php file from template and added it to my child theme. This only results in a "white screen situation", which I can fix.

Maybe I haven't followed the directions from the previous explanation "Re-upload a fresh copy of the wp-includes folder then try adding:"?

Any thoughts on how I can add a new functions.php to theme without bringing site down?

I did it without bringing my site down, finally.

But, the adding the indicated code to a functions.php template did take the troublesome lines 38 and 39 found in the source.
