Remove Categories From Post - Batch Process? (2 posts)

    Before fully understanding categories and tagging I used to put the same article in numerous categories. Now I worry this is hurting my SEO and would like to remove categories from post. I have close to 2,000 post that I would need to go through.

    Does anyone know of a plugin that can help with this. Example is:

    http://mtnweekly.com/the-north-face-mountain-athletics-line

    I have selected 4 categories. And would like to really only have 1. However going through 2,000 post seems like a pain in the butt..

    I am not sure that your premise is correct. A Single post has it's unique URL as does a category archive page, so you do not have duplicate content actually. Using multiple categories is common.

    If you think that it is, you could edit your single.php (or applicable theme template part) to only output the first category.
