Remove banner image and close up spacing (1 post)

    Hello,
I realise that this is similar to the previous question but that has already been marked resolved. Also, my problem is slightly different.

I would like to remove the large BANNER image(not header image)i.e. the one which you use with a slider on the theme demo. By removing bits of code (not sure where from now!) - probably from the CSS and/or Header files - I have managed to remove the banner image (and the x that stayed when I just removed it using the theme options).

However, there is now a large depth of white space where the banner image used to be. I want to close this up, so that the top header area (with menu) is immediately followed by the "Front Page Heading" text and then the 4 featured boxes. I only want a couple of line spaces of white below the top header/menu area.

Can you help? I am quite new to this and am trying to teach myself to write and edit code but it is a steep learning curve.

    Many thanks!
    Maria
