Remove background from Custom Menu (sidebar widget) (4 posts)

    I created a custom menu widget for my sidebar but it has the same brown background as my main nav bar. I would like to get rid of these CSS rules (hover, shadow, left 1px border, etc) and make it look just like the other widgets on the sidebar.

    My website is: http://vmelab07.usilu.net/etourismlab2012/?page_id=3000

    I tried adding some CSS rules to the "Custom CSS Styles", but obviously i'm doing something wrong:

    .menu-hiking_trail_menu-container {
    background-color: none;
    background-image: none;
    }

    Thank you in advance!

    .menu a {
        border: none;
        text-shadow: none;
    }
    .menu .current_page_item a:hover {
         background: none;
    }

    Thank you for the quick reply Emil! However, I'm still getting the brown background and CSS rules inherited from the main nav menu. I made a screenshot:

    I already tried the code you suggested but I was getting the same result. I even added .menu-hiking_trail_menu-container, but nothing:

    .menu-hiking_trail_menu-container a {
        border: none;
        text-shadow: none;
    }
    .menu-hiking_trail_menu-container .current_page_item a:hover {
         background: none;

    }

    This is the link to the website:

    Thanks! ;-)

    I would say that you're using an older version of Responsive Theme, we eliminated .menu class for custom menus in all widget areas, you can see an example here: http://themeid.com/demo/responsive/parent-page/
