   By default or this may be something I did without being aware of it, I have 24 posts all listed on the Posts page with the same category - say 'fish eggs'. I wish to delete this so that for starters at any rate, no category is listed; so that the 'attribute areaa' given to categories is blank in other words. Is this possible? [I do later-on want to have 5 different categories, but seeing a category I don't want there right now is acting as a block to everything...]

   In short, you can't. Unless you assign a category, every post is assigned to your default category automatically.
