   Hi there,
   I have been researching for some days now but couldn`t find a real answer to my problem:

   I understand the use of having rel="nofollow" on links in the comments area, but I dont want it to be surrounded by a red and dashed ugly border (box).

   It is not something in my css or template for that I am almost sure.

   I also get this on my dashboard.
   Gosh I hate these boxes.

   Any clues?

   sure thing it can be found on sites such as
   http://www.h4x3d.com/temporary-upgrade/#comments

   but I have found it on several other sites aswell,
   some "big" sites such as wasabi

   What firefox extensions do you have enabled?

   adblock, webdeveloper, greasemonkey, some alexa/google pr extension.

   do you believe this could be a reason?

   I do indeed, yes. :-) You might experiment with disabling those one by one and see if that doesn't help narrow it done.

   thanks for bringing the extension thing to my attention,
   indeed it was the seo extension which by default had "highlight nofollow links" on.

   Thus it is not a wordpress issue and this can be closed, thank you!!
