Ah, looks like I've misunderstood the wp_schedule_event() function and assumed it takes the function as a parameter. I'll fix this in the next version.
Oh, and I still don't recommend actually using the cache.

Yup - saw that elsewhere. Did not try that - so perhaps that is another thing to look at - it should not schedule if no cache requested ?
