   This is sort of off-topic, but I want to release a domain from Yahoo so I can have a new host, where I will install WP.

   The customer service number points me back to help.yahoo.com which appears unable to do what I need to do.

   Any thoughts?

   1. Backup anything you need at your old host.
   2. Ask your new hosting company for their name server values.
   3. Visit the company that is your domain registrar and change the name servers to those provided to you in step 2
   4. Wait (2-48 hours) until the domain name server change resolves.
