For over a year, I have attempted to receive the Release Notification emails by signing up on this page:

I've tried numerous different email addresses (including addresses with zip, zilch, zero spam filtering) but I have NEVER, EVER received anything from this mailing list. Is this list actually used?
im signed up too - i dont get them either, never have.
good thing I pay atten to other things..

I've never received anything either, I rely on the wp-testers list instead.
Scarily enough, there is a plugin that lets you know the second you are out of date with WP versions.

Interesting. I end up finding out about releases soon enough through the dashboard, but I disable the RSS on the dashboard of some of my WP sites, so I signed up for the mailing list as a redundancy plan. Perhaps the WP crew should consider using the mailing list or removing the sign-up form from the downloads page.

Same here. You'd think they would want to use it?
