ok, apart from the waypath hack i dont think wp has any hack that does related post thingy. and waypath shows the related posts generally... not the same blog. so i had this idea for any one who is interested and have some time to make a new plugin sort of a thing.
we can have a keyword sort of entry thing for a post. the hack would search the database for that keyword and output the related post headings under the post under a heading with a name like "related post:" or anything like that.
hopefully this make some sense. now why would not i do it? coz i am not a programmer. i just get weird ideas. :)
I've thought about this before, but I would prefer that the author chooses from all previous posts which ones he/she considers "related". Would that work? What do you think guys?

I'd prefer an automatic solution as the author couldn't always remember what posts are related to the one he's editing. And, choose among, e.g. 500+ posts would be a pain...
An ideal solution: the user writes the post content, hits a button to get the related entries, then he confirms or not the entries he want to appear as related, and hits Publish.
Yeah a manual selection would be excellent, but i would be ok with automatic too... i dont have any power to see what waypath shows on my pages! :)

Yes, CG-Related is for manual linking of articles.
CG-SameCat can be used for showing lists of posts within a given category... for quick relations.

Will this place the posts anywhere you like? Like at the bottom of the post?
Yes, CG-Related gives you a function/tag you can insert wherever you want the related list to show up. It can be in the sidebar for a is_single post, or the bottom of the post for standard homepage/category/archives views. It can even be embedded within specific posts if you use something like CG-QuickPHP to make the call (so you don't have to hardcode the list of related posts IN the post itself...).
