s2Member allows extra fields to be added to the standard WordPress registration form. I’ve added some. But elsewhere on the site I’d like a different registration form without these extra fields (or ideally with just one of them), to allow people to sign up for free to receive a newsletter and possibly some sample content. Is it possible to code a different version of the form calling only some of these extra fields?

  • You can make the field apply to only some levels. WP Admin -> s2Member -> General -> Registration/Profile Fields -> Field editor -> Applicable Membership Levels

So if you make only field for free users (s2 level 0), and the others for level 1 for example, then users that register after checkout for level 1 will see those others, while free registrations only the level 0 one.

Registration forms to add to other WP pages than the default registration one, are not available in the free version of s2Member, though, they are an s2Member Pro feature. But the default registration form will work with the Applicable Membership Levels for custom profile fields.

    I hope that helps. 🙂

Thanks Christián. I actually do have s2Member Pro; I’m only here because s2Member have closed their own forums and make a rather off-putting meal out of raising a support ticket!

Users register as they purchase using a Pro-form, so the fields need to be seen on this form before people have signed up. Moreover, I want to hide the first name and last name fields which don’t appear to be editable in the registration form options.

    Any suggestions?
