• Have a Greetings Administrator Page on my home page after a friend helped me add a new site to my dashboard. There is an invitation to add new sites, which I am not interested in doing. The message refers me to a Options page to 1) disable registation, 2)allow user accounts to register, 3) logged in users to register or both sites and 4) user accounts to be registered. ( My host, Mediatemple, suggests this is a wordpress action).

AM interested in understanding what this registration is for and what actions I need to take to close the message and more sites promotion.

    Mahalo,

  • Aloha,

Are you seeing: Network Admin? If that doesn’t make sense, it appears that your WordPress install was configured for multisite use which allows you to run multiple blogs using one WordPress installation.

    Aloha,
Thanks for this help. If I go to my Sites tab, then Network admin, I get a clean dashboard.

That resolves practical aspect. Thanks so much.

Am still curious about what the registration for users, logged in users, both or disable is all about and whether this message ever goes away or is meant as any easy way to register new sites.

Aloha kakahiaka and you are welcome! I do apologize but I missed one of the key points of your first post regarding the issue and missed the part about the message/invitation being on the homepage, and not the dashboard.

Now that I have a clearer picture of your issue, see if this previous post helps you at all: Domain Redirection Keeps Forwarding to Signup Page. It may involve editing your wp-config.php file.

Once again, my apologies and I hope that the above post helps you resolve your issue.
