Registered Users Editing Own Comments (4 posts)

Running the current 1.5 branch it seems that the ability for users to edit their own comments after posting isn't fully supported. In fact, I can't seem to figure out any reason behind which posts a user can edit and which they cannot. Is there some secret? My users are all set at level 5, but which posts they can edit seems practically random. Searching the forums indicates that this is a known problem of some kind (read: unsupported).

And has this been improved in 2.0?

A User Level 5 can edit posts written by authors at User Levels 1 to 4.

Are you talking about posts or comments? If it's comments, users other than admin can only edit comments they left while they were logged in. If they were logged out and left a comment, it won't be associated with their profile, so they won't be able to edit it.

Otherwise, they should be able to edit their own comments, as well as their own posts.

  4. Use this, works like a charm: http://code.jalenack.com/archives/edit-comments/
