® mystery in the title

    Hi everyone,

    may be someone can solve this mystery:

    At the page http://www.catdi.com/directconnect/ the page title is supposed to say:
    Welcome to DirectConnect®

    In the source code it says
    <h1 class="pagetitle">Welcome to DirectConnect&reg;</h1>

    But the R symbol is not displayed.

    Any ideas why this happen?

    Hi,
    That was an interesting brain-teaser, as I don’t use symbols all that much. I was able to get the register symbol on my page titles and in my browser bar fine.

    Then I looked at your code. You have the fancy Cufon font stuff going on, and it’s not recognizing the symbol. I think you’ll need to check with the Cufon people about that. Maybe they have a forum, new version, advice on stuff like UTF-8 and other character set vagaries.
