Is there some way to reduce the number of Spam posts that show up in my comments section every day? It's getting ridiculous, I have about 60 spam comments a day.

Posted 2 years ago #Thanks for the help on that. Now I have a new problem. When I try to activate Akismet, it says I need an API key to activate it. When I try to get an API key it takes me to a wordpress sign in screen buy my username and password don't seem to work on there. How do I get an API key?

you need to "create" an account there.. your sites username (admin) and password wont work. Just sign for an account and get an API key. you must have this key to use akismet.
There are some captcha plugins as well, which can help reducing spam comments..
