Old to new Permalinks Redirection problem (3 posts)

    Hello there.

I've a query regarding WordPress permalinks. I've changed the permalink structure of my blog from /%postname%/ to /%postname%/%post_id%/ around two years ago. It was working perfectly until I suddenly found that /%postname%/ URLs are not redirecting to /%postname%/%post_id%/, and search engines have indexed some posts with /%postname%/.

I tried some plugins including Yoast's Permalink Redirect (which just cleans the end of the URL), it didn't work; then Redirection, which also focuses on adding redirects manually.

Is there a way to redirect from /%postname%/ URLs to /%postname%/%post_id%/ in this case? The site makes use of WordPress SEO, Redirection plugin, and Simple URLs. Thanks in advance :)

    Hi Tara

    Thanks for your reply.
Already tried this one, it gives an .htaccess rule to redirect any kind of permalink to the %postname% one. Don't know how to modify this .htaccess to get redirection from %postname% to %postname%/%post_id%. Can you help me with that?
