Redirection Plugin (3 posts)

    Hi,

I recently changed my url structure from

    http://theadventurouswriter.com/quipstipsworkingworld/

    to

    http://theadventurouswriter.com/working/

And now I need to reroute the incoming links so they go to the correct place.

For instance, an old link is:

    http://theadventurouswriter.com/quipstipsworkingworld/freelance-writer-job-description-career-tips-writers/

and I want it to point to the new one:

    http://www.theadventurouswriter.com/working/freelance-writer-job-description-career-tips-writers/

I uploaded the Redirection plugin (thanks John G!), and I tried inserting the urls themselves in the Redirection plugin's source and target fields, but that didn't work.

Can you tell me what to insert in the source and target fields, so I don't have broken links all over the place?

    Thank you,
    Laurie

Thank you! I've read it, and I can't figure out if it can do what I want.

I don't want to change my source url, which John explains here:

Matching a URL is a key part of Redirection and consists of a source URL. This URL must exactly match a URL that you want to redirect. For example, your site has the page:

    http://yoursite.com/oldpage/that/needs/redirecting/
The source URL for this is: /oldpage/that/needs/redirecting/. The source does not require your website address, and it is only possible to redirect a URL that exists on your website (you cannot redirect an external website, for example).

Rather, I want to change the http://yoursite.com/ string. That's what I can't figure out....
