Redirecting Plugin/Permalink Structure?

    Hello,

    Question. Currently a have a website with over 2,500 posts with 44 categories.

    The person that set this up is using the date/year/month permalink setup. They are trying to have an RSS feed set up for each of their categories (to use with a mobile website). I know using the date/year/month permalink will not allow the usage of an RSS feed for each category.

    Here is the problem, if going forward I change the URL structure to pull the category name, what will happen to the site in terms of SEO for all the posts that are already indexed in Google?

    Is there an auto redirect plugin for WordPress?

    If I type in the post URL now and use one of the category names already assigned to it, it redirects to the date/year/month permalink structure.

    Any ideas.
