Redirect_To problems (hosting thingy?)
-
Hi Guys,
I have a couple of domains. On one of them I installed WP. In a subfolder:
http://www.main-domain.com/wordpress/But my visitors are not supposed to go there. They visit the WP blog via:
http://www.different-domain.comI’ve forwarded different-domain.com address to the IP address of the main-domain server. So without a HTACCESS you will see the main-domain.com website on the different-domain.com address.
But then I changed that by using a HTACCESS, so the different-domain.com actually considers the main-domain.com/wordpress/ folder as its root. So wordpress is shown when you go to different-domain.com.
The HTACCESS is located in the root of main-domain.com and contains:
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/wordpress/
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.different-domain\.com
RewriteRule (.*) /wordpress/$1This works great for almost everything except one: redirect_to
When I try to login on different-domain.com/wp-login.php it refreshes and adds a redirect_to parameter to the url. but then it stops. and the parameter is wrong because it displays: http://www.different-domain.com/wordpress/wp-admin
So even though every setting is right, WP still manages to get the subfolder name somewhere and use it in its redirects. This affects every redirect and breaks up my website.
Ps: if i login, and get stuck at the redirect, i can manually go back to the index and click the ‘site admin’ link (which is correct: different-domain.com/wp-admin) and i’m logged in! So it DOES work. Only the redirects dont.
