• Hello everyone!

I have a quick question that I was hoping someone would have the answer to. Basically, I have painfully migrated an html/css site over to wordpress and I’ve made categories to sort the massive amount of posts while keeping the same (mostly) structure of the previous site.

My problem is that you can easily view the root category on the site and it would be confusing for the audience of people if it was to be easily displayed like that.

Is there a way to redirect a category to a specific post within the category?

I tried using 301 redirect plugins, however the plugins didn’t actually remove or delete the previous entries that I was testing out so that was a bust.

    Thanks for any help!

  • If you are using the WP Menus, you could create a Custom Link with the Label of the category name and the URL of the Post.

If you want more control, you could create a Page with the name of the category and a template that shows the desired Post with links to the entire category. Or a template that shows the titles of posts in the category so that when a viewer clicks a title, it takes them to that Post.

If I have completely missed the point, please explain more, with examples if possible.
