I was searching the support site, but am still not sure what the best solution is as I am a newbie. I have a site at http://www.vineyardwalk.com that currently contains a live site written in another program. I installed WP in a folder called WordPress on the hosting account and have developed a new site using WordPress pages only. I will not be using comments or the blog part of WP on this site (not sure if this matters).

Now I would like users see the new site when they hit http://www.vineyardwalk.com (but it's at http://www.vineyardwalk.com/wordpress). My hosting provider has set up a Forward to the WordPress folder, but is that the best way to do it? Could I have instead moved the WordPress folder to the root somehow? Or should I have used Redirect?

I very much appreciate the feedback or direction to where relevant help is already posted (as I am not WP smart enough yet to figure it out).

You can move WordPress. Read this closely:

Otto, thank you. I was wondering if that was a solution for me. Should I first delete the files related to the old site?

All is good, I removed the old files and then moved WP to the root. I had to also update the permalinks and all is good.
