• I upgraded to WP 2.7 and everything went smoothly except now my home page doesn’t resolve, displaying an error:

Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

Does anyone know why? I have 8 WP blogs, 4 of them worked, the others received the alert above. Some of mine, when transferring, couldn’t transfer over a java folder withing the includes folder also.

    Any help appreciated.

  • I just updated my WP to 2.7 and I’m having exactly the same FF error as brooksnet.

    Redirect Loop
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.

The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

    * NOTE: If accepting the site’s cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.

however I can log into my admin page, but cannot see my blog at all.

Tried all the suggestion from other threads as refreshing cache files from gravatars, clearing private data on tool on Firefox, desactivating all my plugins, but I just can’t see my blog at all 🙁

    Please could anybody help me?

Thank you very much in advance 🙂

I had this error message once, but it appeared on my Google start page. I understand you can surf the web and use Yahoo or Google fine, and this error message is unique to some of your blog sites?

I’m asking because in my case I had a nasty Spyware lurking in the background, which bypassed both SpySweeper as well as McAfee.

If this error message happens on sites that are unrelated to your WP installations as well, have a look for Spyware.

Have you tried logging in from other computers or browsers?

I’m back to 2.6 and it’s working fine. It’s something to do with this version of WP and I can’t figure out what it is.
@versluis – We are (well I am) talking about my home page from my blog and not my default page on my browser 😉 I was able to browse inside my blog through wp-admin page but I don’t know how on version 2.7 my front page on my blog would not display. Instead I would have this error from Firefox and Safari saying “Redirect Loop”.
Have you heard of this problem or, even better, can you help us? (^_^)

    Thanks.

i am having the exact same problem. do you guys have your WP install in a different directory from your apache root directory like i do? maybe it has something to do with the way WP 2.7 handles this…

    just throwing it out there.

I also have my wordpress installed in a different directory than my blog, and I also am experiencing this error.

Ive seen this, as well, with a 2.7 install and wordpress installed in it’s own directory. not my blog, but one that we eventually just moved the files up into root. that solved the problem.

any solution to this? I want to keep it in different folders.

This was the Redirection plug-in for me.
