Redirect Links Hacked (7 posts)

I just noticed that any links from our website that get posted on Facebook or even in search engine results get redirected to a scam site, but if you type the site's address directly in the browser it works just fine.

Is this some sort of a trackback hack?

    Site: http://buildingsuccesstoday.com/

    Example of hacked links: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&q=http:%2F%2Fbuildingsuccesstoday.com

    Help?

You might want to contact your hosting provider and let them know about this issue.

Ah yes.. we have been seeing a lot of these URL hi jacking attempts.. Its actually a conditional redirect based on the Facebook referrer.. nasty little buggers but makes sense with its popularity (it = facebook)

Check your htaccess and index files, not just for the core install but also your themes and those sites around the site.

    Thanks

Yup, I got it fixed by installing Malware Removal plugin, and it deep cleaned all the malicious code.

Was that the name of it?

    Malware Removal

Or was it called something else?

    Thanks
