I just made this account for this post. I am not able to access the account for the site I need help with:
Domain hosted with Dreamhost: http://cgloveshair.com/
WP located in sub: http://cgloveshair.com/salon/
Hot mess:
Original goal was to get rid of the /salon URL (from the redirect). Followed instructions to move the blog, but that broke the theme and the admin. Cannot access /wp-admin and thus no dashboard.
Tried following WP's redirect instructions by changing DNS at Dreamhost account but that broke the domain. Switched it back per Dreamhost instructions and the domain is back online, but the admin issue still exists.
How do I access my account? Should I just trash everything and start over? (I'm at that point).
Thanks for any help.

Your login for these forums has nothing whatsoever to do with the login for your own self-hosted, WordPress, site.
with regard to the issues on your site, you first need to change the urls back. Then, when you can access the site again, see Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory.

Thanks for the response. I'm assuming these are many different ways to achieve the same thing and not a string of steps?
Is the site URL http://cgloveshair.com ?
Is the home URL http://cgloveshair.com/salon ?
Or are they both the same, pointing to the sub where the WP lives?
On the second option, will that still work if the theme is broken?

I'm marking this "resolved" even though it's not resolved just to keep the forums neat. I'm really disappointed in my entire WP experience, and while I can guess at the reasons support is so difficult or nonsensical, it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Too bad.
