    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to 301 redirect from an image file (example.com/image.jpg) to another URL? It doesn't look like any of the plugins can do that, I'm not sure if it's even technically possible to do that?

    Thanks

    1. Open any post / page
    2. press add media-button
      The media library opens
    3. pick an image to insert
    4. In the right sidebar of the media library:
      'ATTACHMENT DISPLAY SETTINGS'
      'Link to:' choose 'custom URL'
Add the URL in the field below
    5. give the settings for 'alignment' and 'size' of the image
    6. press 'insert into page / post'
    7. check the result

Oh wow, that's much simpler than I thought it would be.

Just to confirm - does that act as a 301?

    Thanks!

The above steps link an image to a URL of your choice

An actual 301 is often done using .htaccess.
You can also use a plugin.
