I have used WordPress almost since its inception, though never got around to giving it a good design the software demands. Here are my new efforts:
Front Page
Personal Blog
Economics Blog
Along the way, I brought (and set-up/installed) some new folks to WordPress. They are still just using some of the great available templates until I get around designing them something unique:
Tim (from MT)
Anti-sam.org 1
Anti-sam.org 2
Of course I want opinions!
"There's no background set."
I am not seeing this...It shows the background image for me (FF .9.3).
"As for the other three.... very nice, like the look and all..... (here comes the "but" part)... but, it is VERY right heavy and gives a lopsided feel to it. I thought it was interesting, since the tendency is to be left heavy, this took it to the other extreme."
Indeed I did. Honestly, I got sick of designing boilerplate centered or left websites. This was my response to it. I think it is also a by-product of my photography style... I will try another layout that isn't less right-heavy, perhaps moved a bit to the center. Thanks for the comments.
it does on the lower half. May this will help. From inside FF, Select Tools, Options. Click General, then click the "Fonts & Colors" button. Towards the lower left of the dialog box, there's a way to set the default background color. Click it and select a color. I use a pale light blue, that's how I tend to find pages w/o a background.

Nice stuff, Mike. I dig hugging the right viewport-- the strong color on the left balances it for me.

Love the menu at the top. But that shadow... Kinda too deep imho, makes my eyes go O.O ;) Otherwise very nice :)
