[resolved] Red Xs on Dashboard and Post Editing Panel (10 posts)

I have several installations of WordPress on different domains I own. I recently attempted to add WordPress to a domain for my niece, and everything has been going wrong. I have tried re-installing several times, but I am having the same issue. I am getting red Xs on the quick post where the add image, video, media buttons should be. Even worse, when I attempt to create a new post, none of the editing panel images are showing up -- both in visual and html view. Even when I attempt to add an image to a post, the image doesn't show up. Insult to injuy: Even the header image that's cooked into Twenty Ten is not showing up. Again, this is the first time I've ever had this problem, and I cannot figure out how to remedy.

    Here are some screenshosts

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

    have you tried:

-deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to narrow down and possibly fix the problem. If the problem goes away, activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the culprit.

-switching to the default theme ("twentyten") for a moment by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes. The idea is to force WordPress to fall back to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific issue.

Do you have any hotlinking protection enabled on your hosting account?

Thanks t-p. I have tried both. In fact, I have uninstalled WP several times, and deleted all files from the domain folder, then reinstalled. I have deactivated all plugins and only tried using the Twenty Ten.

It's really frustrating, because I have not had this problem with any of the other WP installs. Sigh!

Hotlink protection is enabled, but none of my other blogs have this issue. Should I go ahead and disable anyway?

try disabling it and see if that resolves the issue
