• Hello,

I accidentally installed a new WordPress site onto an existing WordPress site’s database location.

Now, the only files I can find are in my control panel of my hosting company; they are in a public.html folder. Is it possible to retrieve my pages and posts/content via these files?

If so, where are they located?

My hosting company does not have a backup available.

    Any ideas?

  • Hello GardenerPA,

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your site. Unfortunately, your content (posts and pages) are located in the database. When you installed the new WordPress site, did you create a separate database or did you connect to the original database? To view your databases, you will want to use phpMyAdmin (most web hosts provide this). If you did overwrite the original database, do you have a backup of your site from before the new install?

    Hope this helps!
