recovered from auto-upgrade nightmare-almost (2 posts)

Could someone please find the so-called "programmer" of the WP auto-upgrade plugin and kill him? That being said...I've almost recovered from the plugin shutting down. My blog is up and viewable, no material is lost. But the Dashboard is acting funny.

    1) I can't tab between Visual and HTML when writing posts.
    2) The dialog box for images won't accept data when the cursor in put in the "http//" field.

Although, I can program Access with relative ease, I haven't learned WordPress yet, so this is agonizing...to know basically what to do but not specifically what to do.

And I'm deadly afraid of making a mistake now...because it was four days before the blog reappeared. I don't want to lose it, now that the readers have come back.

Meanwhile, the blog is starting to go stale because I can't update using posts with pictures.

OK...sorry for being so basic...but...is the wp-content directory supposed to be a subdirectory of the wordpress directory or the domain directory?

I'm not experimenting until I know.
Once I'm used to this, it will be old hat, but right now everything seems pretty arcane.

If you are now running 2.7, go to plugins and disable that WAPU plugin, since it's now built into 2.7 you won't ever need it again.

Then go to the admin/tools/upgrade and use the core upgrader to automatically reinstall 2.7 again. That way you will make sure all the correct files are there. WAPU didn't always get all the files.

As for your question, the wp-content directory is supposed to be a subdirectory of what ever folder the blog is installed in.

If you are still running a pre 2.7 version, then I would do a manual install of 2.7 to make sure all the files are there.
