I'm trying to recover the content from a blog I ran on WordPress.
I had some issues with my hosting and before I ended the relationship, I removed the entire WordPress directory. I did not look into the backup process.
I'm trying to find out if it is possible to recover the content from the files on my desktop or restore the blog somehow.
Did you backup your Database as well as those files? If not... No.

Looks like I copied everything in the public_html folder. Any chance it's in there?
No. The database isn't in your public_html folder. You must export it using phpmyadmin or whatever your host provided for managing databases.
You'll have to ask your hosts. They might keep backups for a while.
