I'm new to WordPress and new to web design in general so the disclaimer being: I'm a bit of a novice, so please bear with me!
I created a website using HTML5, CSS3 and a few scripts that works fine but I would like to convert to WordPress and reduce the amount of pages in the process.
I would like to replicate the same visual style (http://www.barrymckayart.co.uk/portraits.html) but rather than create an individual page for each time you click on a thumbnail, I would like the larger image to appear on the same page (at the moment I have a page for each and every link!).
No doubt there is a simple way to do this, but as I'm starting out, I would appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction to achieve the goal. If it's a case of writing my own code or purchasing a plugin - that's fine.
I welcome any advice and very much appreciate your time.
