Recent Posts Widget Quirk

    I’d rather not post the site, so I’ll be as descriptive as possible.

    Theme: TwentyEleven

    I have 3 pages titled: Home, About, Blog

    In Settings->Reading I have set the frontpage to the static page Home and my posts page to Blog.

    That should be easy enough to understand, pretty basic.

    I have two posts published titled: Post 1, Post 2

    Now here is the quirk…

    In the sidebar I put the stock Recent Posts widget.

    On the Blog page the widget displays as it should…

    Post 2
    Post 1

    However, on the Home and About (and all non-blog) pages it displays…

    Post 1
    Post 1

    …I can’t figure out why.

    Have you edited the theme in any way? Is Post 1 a sticky post?

    Haven’t touched the theme. No sticky post, everything is completely standard.

    I’m about to backup this site and do a fresh install.

    I used a third party recent posts widget and that one worked fine, however it doesn’t use the widget css so I still need to get the stock widget to work.
