Brand new to WP. Came from Blogger. Not a developer, but I can do stuff. I just need some direction.

My blog uses the “Thirteen” theme by Beccary.

I added a few widgets and created a couple of posts. The sidebar contains several sections made up of widgets and pieces from the theme. But they aren’t in the order I’d like them to be on. For instance, I want to move the Categories to the top, etc.

    Where do I change this?

I went to the Control Panel for Word Press and clicked “Design.” From there I went to the Theme Editor and looked at the various templates listed on the list at the right. None of them seems to control this. I had high hopes for “sidebar.php,” but I don’t see all of the components listed there. I did try moving the <li id=”categories”> section, but when I saved and refreshed, it looked just like it did before.

    Please help!

  • Hi there, have you been to your widgets page. I can see you are using wordpress2.5.1
If you go to Design, then widgets, you can drag your widget to a new position. Give it a try.
    Hope it goes well.

Thank you so much! Really, I should have thought to try that but for some reason I didn’t. I guess some text could be added in the Widgets section that mentions this, but I usually would try something like that.

    Thanks again!

Hi again, glad it worked out.
