• Hi All,

Has anyone seen a plugin or have a suggestion for creating a really simple form?

I need to create a simple 2 column, 10 row form that as I go down and enter quantities, it totals up the price at the bottom and then there is a button to click to email the details of the order?

I dont want to go down the commerce route, this is just a simple solution.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly received.

    Regards,

    James

  • Lot’s of plug-ins can provide this:
Pods, Advanced Custom Fields, Visual Form Builder, Calculated Fields Form, etc…

Try some out and find out which one will work best for your project.

Thanks for the pointers. I’ve had a brief look but, just incase you can save me a bit of time:

Do you know if any of them are capable of looking up products from a DB and displaying them in a drop down or similar?

Also, do you know if any of them can keep a running total of whats been added to the order?

Pods can do this but it requires a bit of programming and a willingness to learn the “Pods” way of doing things. It is amazingly powerful and flexible though. Database Access: Yes. Relationships between fields: yes. Running Total: have to build it yourself

Visual Form Builder is quite good you’ll likely want the Pro version with the Payment plugin to easily accomplish what you’re looking for with no real need for programming. You’ll also want to be fairly good with CSS if you want to style the forms to match your site. I don’t know if the basic Visual Form Builder can do what you want right out of the box. Don’t know enough to speak to database access, but the Pro version of the plugin (with the Payment extension) can handle field relationships and running totals.

Advanced Custom Fields – very powerful and flexible. Again, you’ll need to be okay with programming to get the most out of it. Don’t know enough to answer your questions affirmatively.

Don’t know anything about Calculated Fields Form.

Also before I forget – you might also want to check out iTheme’s Exchange plugin. Yes it’s ecommerce but I still suggest checking it out and seeing if it might handle what you’re looking for.

@jparry, i’m looking for exactly same thing. Did you find any solutions ?
