Really excellent for recent posts either as a wide widget, or as narrow sidebar

This widget adds recent posts with or without excerpt of your chosen length, with or without a thumbnail of your chosen size. Good for sitewide bottom or a sidebar widget.
You can limit to a particular category, although you can’t exclude a category (which I’d like to do).
Still, excellent !
