read more option with permalinks not working

I’m looking through the doc and the forums but can’t really find what i want – and it’s hard to explain.

Basically permalinks aren’t working the way I would expect.

I have this main page

http://www.verycraftygals.com/topics/discover

In the center are all the sub-cats for the discover category,

Clicking on the top one Books-to-inspire takes me to the posts in that sub-cat

So far so good.

Now when I click on “read the rest of this entry …”

The page format is lost – it goes to the uncategorized page and I see why the perma link has lost it’s path

It should be

http://www.verycraftygals.com/topics/discover/recommend-a-book

but instead it’s just this:
http://www.verycraftygals.com/recommend-a-book/#more-30

I tried changing the permalink path in the admin panel but it won’t let me add the /’s – it strips them out.

What am I missing here ?
