I have problems displaying the [read more & comment] element as a link to the actual post since i updated my wordpress version. might have been a rookie misstake to update, i guess, but now im kinda in a sticky situation.

studiopress from whom ive bought the genesis theme and tweaked it to work like a want says that this is a wordpress problem, and therefor they cant help out.

Figured i might not be the only one having this kind of problems after the update.

The widget im using to display the latest two posts on my site is Genesis Featured Widget Amplified and also an Excerpt lenght plugin.

my site is located at: http://www.soulinterviews.com

(This is my first post in this forum, so please be gentle if im doing something wrong)

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

I've read that text in the "release notes" or whatnot, but such major change to our site that is frequently visited and just re-released with new design would be fatal.

isnt there any way to discuss and maybe come up with a more plausible cause for the specific problem on soulinterviews.com ? also since everything else seems to work allright, except from our slider that had its css reset.

This is the most basic WordPress troubleshooting. The steps are reversible and temporary but are needed to try and eliminate possible causes. If you cannot work with us, then we cannot help you.

i understand. maybe im coming off like a jerk but it really caught me off guard, making me a bit desperate in fixing it, thats just all :)

i know youre the best in giving support at this, so i will take your advice, work WITH you and look into it.

my only worrie though, is that things wouldnt be reversible since ive done some modding myself to the theme and everything to make it look like my "customer" wants.

didnt mean to step on any toes

All of the steps should be reversible. Any half-decent plugin or theme should be saving it's settings in your database and won't remove them on deactivation - only deletion (and then only plugins, not themes).
