Re-Installing a Hacked WordPress (2 posts)

I browsed around the support forums for a while and haven't found an exact answer to my problem, so I thought I'd inquire.

BACK STORY: A couple of weeks ago my website was hacked into by an unknown third party and used for a Phishing scam. Several of the WordPress .php files were accessed, edited and compromised. I've gone through a lot of steps to rid myself of the hackers including deleting all WordPress files on the server. In the past few weeks I've had no problems with hackers so I'm ready to get back up and running again.

THE PROBLEM: I've done a scan through phpMyAdmin and all of the WordPress database files appear to be completely intact. How do I re-install WordPress and tap into the already existing database to get my pages back to normal?

All you need to do is upload your WordPress files on the server and connect to you database by modifying the wp-config.php. You don't need to re-install it, just upload the files.

That should be all you need to do.
