We are using Microkid Related posts plugin which allows us to manually assign posts that are related. Our posts still shows at the bottom of each post the related articles which are assigned randomly we are assuming. Is there any way that we can remove the related articles and use strictly the related posts plugin?

Tagged the post for the dev (you have to do that if you want them to see it).
Looking at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/microkids-related-posts/screenshots/ I see little X's in circles under 'Related'
Presumably you can click 'em to unrelate.
