Support » Fixing WordPress » Re-direct an entire fqdn not just a subdomain or url

  • I am new to WordPress.

I need to know if I can do an entire fqdn re-direct within WordPress or must it be done on the hosting server. Here’s my problem: I have two domain names registered “homeschoolingtt.org” and “homeschoolingtt.com” with FQDNs “www.homeschoolingtt.org” and “www.homeschoolingtt.com” pointing to the same IP on my host’s server. To prevent content duplication, I would like to redirect the “www.homeschoolingtt.org” to “www.homeschoolingtt.com” with “www.homeschoolingtt.com” being my primary domain. My host’s server with my WordPress installation is a shared Microsoft IIS. So, to re-direct on the host’s server, I would have to setup a ‘Mod Rewrite’ and then edit the .htaccess to do a 301. I don’t trust my skills too much and neither their support should I do it worng. I’d much rather find a way within WordPress to do it as the community support is fantastic I think. Any suggestions?
